  • CBT

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or CBT is a clinically proven, evidence-based therapy that is widely used to resolve common issues, ranging from work stress to grief. Many other forms of therapy focus on past events, such as traumas in childhood, while CBT focuses on your ‘here and now’.
  • CAT

Cognitive Analytic Therapy or CAT is a time-limited, solution-focused therapy, with a greater emphasis on how past events such as your childhood may have shaped your current thoughts, feelings and behaviours. It is commonly used to help people who have faced problems for a long period of time.
  • DBT

Dialectical behaviour therapy or DBT treatment is a cognitive-behavioural approach that emphasizes the psychosocial aspects of treatment. The theory behind the approach is that some people are prone to react in a more intense manner toward certain emotional situations, primarily those found in romantic, family and friend relationships. DBT is a method for teaching skills that will help to manage these emotions.
  • EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing or EMDR is a form of psychotherapy that is used to help resolve problems which have originated from traumatic life experiences. You visualise a negative experience while a therapist or psychiatrist quickly moves their hand back and forth across your field of vision. This stimulates rapid eye movement and has been proven to reduce the amount of time you need to process and resolve traumatic memories.
  • REBT

Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy or REBT is the pioneering form of cognitive behaviour therapy. REBT is an action-oriented approach to managing cognitive, emotional, and behavioural disturbances.

Much like its descendants (such as CBT), REBT believes it is largely our thinking about events that leads to emotional and behavioural upset. With an emphasis on the present, you are taught how to examine and challenge your unhelpful thinking which creates unhealthy emotions and self-defeating/self-sabotaging behaviours.

  • MBCT

Combining ancient wisdom and 21st century science, Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy or MBCT is proving to be a powerful tool to help prevent relapse in depression and the after effects of trauma. The word mindfulness means compassionate and lucid awareness, a sense of knowing what is happening in the external and internal world as it is happening.
  • Systemic Therapy

Family therapy, also referred to as systemic therapy, is an approach that works with families and those who are in close relationships to foster change. These changes are viewed in terms of the systems of interaction between each person in the family or relationship.
  • Couples Therapy

Couples therapy is a form of psychological therapy used to treat relationship distress for both individuals and couples. The purpose of couple’s therapy is to restore a better level of functioning in couples who experience relationship distress.
