Making an enquiry
From when you first call The Insight Network, whether it is to discuss your own needs or because you are concerned for a friend or family member, you can be assured that your enquiry will be handled sensitively and in complete confidence. A member of the enquiry team will talk through your concerns with you, as well as suggest how we might help.
Taking on board all you have told us, one of our senior clinicians will then assess your concerns. Depending on your circumstances and requirements, they will then recommend whether an appointment with a therapist or a psychiatrist is more appropriate, and a clinician who specialises in your area of concern. We will then be in touch to arrange your first appointment with you.
Your first appointment
Prior to your first appointment, we will send you an information booklet, and questionnaire to complete before you see your clinician. When you come to your first appointment, your therapist or psychiatrist will carry out a full assessment and will ask you about your history and any medication you may be taking, as well as review the questionnaire you have completed. In the course of this assessment you will have the opportunity to talk about any goals and objectives that you want to achieve during treatment – after all, this is your treatment. This could range from learning to be more assertive with your boss if this is causing you stress and anxiety; or learning to do more pleasurable things if you are depressed. You will also be provided with information on the treatment options available to help you achieve these goals and any agreed treatment will then be included in your own individual treatment plan.
