Henry is an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with 17 years experience. He has been practising CBT since 1998.
He was trained in Scotland at Dundee University but since then has done various courses using CBT and REBT models in the treatment of depression. He has done short courses in various disorders and extensive courses in supervision regarding the application and delivering treatment using CBT model.
On completion of his CBT training he worked both in acute adult and assessment units. He has worked in child and adolescent psychiatry as a resident therapist. In 2000 he moved to England and took a position as a Cognitive therapist in private mental healthcare. There he saw both adolescent and adults suffering from various psychological problems including depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD and Interpersonal problems. Treatment was based on both individual and group CBT sessions.
In 2004 he joined Human Focus, a rehabilitation company which had teamed up with the Department of Work and Pensions and the Ministry of health to conduct a pilot study into treating patients with muscular skeletal problems and other psychological disorders. Human Focus was made up of a multidisciplinary team comprising an orthopaedic surgeon, vocational physiotherapist, work reintegration specialist and a cognitive behavioural psychotherapist. The treatment model was the bio psychosocial model. Treatment was based on both individual and group sessions.
After the pilot study was completed in 2007, he provided teaching sessions on CBT and supervising other CBT practitioners and counselling psychologists.
Henry also worked as a Senior CBT Psychotherapist at the renowned Maudsley Hospital in a specialist unit for treatment and research in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. He continued to supervise clinicians at Twickenham psychological services and other Private psychologists. He is part of The Insight Network team based at Keats House based in London Bridge, Tunbridge Wells. and via Skype.
