Julia qualified as a Clinical Psychologist from the University of Wales in 2000 and has 10 years’ experience of working in the NHS. Her clinical work has involved the assessment and treatment of complex emotional and mental health issues. She has taught and supervised traineed clinical psychologists and other health professions and has conduducted pschological research in a number of settings both in the UK and abroad. For the past X years, she has worked as an independent practioner in a primary care setting with adults of all ages.
Personal
Julia is commited to providing clients with effective psychological treatment, delivered in a caring an professional way. She strives to form good working relationships with clients based on respect and trust. As a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS), she upholds their professional and ethical values of respect, competence, responsibility and integrit. She tends to work using a Cogntive Behavrioual approach and is interested in the third-wave cognitive therapies – including: Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion-Focused Therapy.
