Experience
Annie has over 20 years experience as a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and is also a Chartered Scientist. She is registered with the Health & Care Professions Council and adheres to their standards and codes of practice.
She specialises in adult mental health and well-being and is interested in the influence of nutrition, exercise and the quality of sleep on mental, as well as physical, well-being.
Annie favours a holistic approach when designing therapy programmes to meet the needs, hopes and aspirations of her clients. She has a special interest in eating disorders and obesity and has trained extensively in line with NICE guidance but is also interested in the ‘third wave’ therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness along with the rapidly emerging field of positive psychology and happiness research.
She is trained as a Personal Construct Psychology psychotherapist so can draw from these many influences to adopt an integrative approach to her work when appropriate. She is also qualified in clinical hypnosis and employs this as an adjunct therapy if clients wish to draw on this approach.
